New School For Field Studies Scholarships
The School for Field Studies (SFS) is committed to making studying abroad affordable. To that end, we are very pleased to introduce new need-based scholarships which are designed to complement and enhance our existing
financial aid offerings.
Pell Grant Match Award
SFS now matches Federal Pell Grant funding for SFS semester students who use their Pell Grants to pay for their SFS program. Students who receive this match may still be considered for additional SFS scholarships, travel grants, and loans.
Trailblazer Grant
We have extended the popular SFS Trailblazer Grant! Students who participate in the Bhutan, Cambodia/Vietnam, or Peru semester programs during the 2015-2016 academic year are eligible for this award. Awards are need-based and may supplement other SFS scholarships, travel grants, and zero- or low-interest loans.
Diversity Scholarship
This need-based scholarship is intended to broaden the participation of underrepresented groups of students in study abroad. For SFS, underrepresented groups include, but are not limited to, students who identify with a certain race, sex, color, religion, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, age, marital status, national origin or ancestry, ethnic origin, or veteran status. Underrepresented groups also include first generation college students and students from low income families.
Heritage Scholarship
This scholarship is available for students who have a cultural and ancestral connection to the country in which they plan to study abroad with SFS. It is designed to help students explore their heritage within the context of environmental research and is available to students of Tanzanian, Kenyan, Cambodian, Costa Rican, Peruvian, Panamanian, Turks & Caicos Islander, Australian, and New Zealand descent. A Heritage Scholarship may also be known by its individual country name such as the
Peruvian-American Heritage Scholarship Award or the Cambodian-American Heritage Scholarship Award.
We hope that you will share these new scholarships with your students and encourage them to contact our Admissions team if they have any questions about the cost of or how they will fund their SFS programs.
